Layers: Actual and Implied
Featured image: Calm and Chaos by Mona Ghazi
Opening Reception: Saturday, August 24 || 6 - 8 PM
Curated by Elena Lopez-Poirot, Layers: Actual and Implied is an exhibition featuring the work of 20 resident artists from Spring Street Studios and 5 guest artists from the Lee College Art Department faculty. Actual layers are apparent in many works as the artists use a myriad of materials to create interesting layers and textures. Layers in other works may not be visually apparent, but the artists use their choice of media to tell stories or send messages. These messages stem from their lives and experiences, creating invisible layers of thoughts and ideas as their works progress. Come out to Spring Street Studios on Saturday, August 24 for the opening reception, where you can enjoy some light refreshments and speak to the artists! Beverages will be provided by Buffalo Bayou Brewing Co. Exhibition is on view July 26 - September 14, 2019. All exhibitions are free and open to the public Monday - Saturday 9 AM - 5 PM.
